RON COHEN

DIRECTOR
STORY MOVER
MENSCH

Ron has the knack for not just telling a story, but he moves the story along.  He passionately dives into his projects, finding the nuance, the specifics, the sweet spot, whether for a patient conquering cancer or an startup company trying to find a unique way to show off their new device.

He has a rare ability to put people at ease and works to get their story and flesh out their passion points out in unique ways.

Ron and his partner love to travel the world, exploring historical sites and hiking breath taking landscapes. Their best trip to date-  going deep into the jungles of Cambodia to explore the 12th century temples of Angkor Wat.

RICHARD LAVERICK

TECHNOLOGIST
FUTURE SPACE TRAVELER

Trained as an electrical engineer, Rich lives his credo of “iterative thinking” –  thinking through things several steps to always be one step ahead. His passion for all things space and digital leads to great discoveries for our group, and helps keep us able to handle anything new.

Rich is a problem solver with a track record of bold solutions and remarkable success. But he’s also the guy who helped corral our recent 3D stereoscopic program on a huge projected screen, knocked out a variety of digital videos, and everything in between. When not helping on the tech side, Rich wanted everyone to know that he is ready and willing to go to space in a moment’s notice!

ERIC COLA

DRONE/CAMERA OPERATOR
ADVENTURER

When it comes to getting a bird’s eye view of a location, Cola is the man for the job. A licensed drone pilot with over three years of flying experience, Eric has taken his assortment of drones all over the world, capturing it from a new point of view.

On the ground, Eric is equally as invaluable with those more conventional “land based” cameras. An incredibly nimble shooter, Eric’s ability to quickly assess and capture a shot makes him a fantastic asset on smaller, quicker shoots.

When he’s not in the air or on land, Eric also loves to spend time on the water. Whether it’s scuba diving with sharks or reeling in a trophy fish, Eric always has his cameras ready to anticipate the next shot.

VIKKI SMITH

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
AKA PRODUCER WOMAN

With the spate of new female action heroes coming out on TV and movies, we wanted to add one to the list. Vikki Smith. AKA  Producer Woman. Her super power? Able to mind meld with clients.  She claims to be able to "get inside the client's head," channeling their thoughts and desires for a project. This is crucial when we are working on new creative concepts to ensure we hit the client's mark.

Vikki also has the more down to earth skill of maintaining budgets. That rare blend of right brain and left brain lets our team push the creative possibilities of a project, while still staying within budget.

Vikki enjoys challenging herself at Soul Cycle, where she's been known to sing loudly to the hits of Rihanna and Hamilton.

DEXTER GRESH

EDITOR

DIRECTOR

WORLD TRAVELER

We'll lead Dexter's bio with the fact he's an Emmy award-winning editor.  He's amazing...and that's not us talking, it's our clients. They absolutely love his ability to find the best of their footage and create stories they didn't even know they had.

Dexter has edited everything from reality TV shows (Wedding Story, Trading Places) to TV spots and complex interactive videos. Versatile in all edit systems, plus adept at After Effects let him seamlessly integrate graphics and animation into his productions.

Dexter's adventurous side has seen him and his girlfriend traveling to Spain, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan in recent years.

BILL BURKE

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
COFFEE ENTHUSIAST

We call Bill the “Rock” at Out of the Blue Productions.  Not for his size, but for the fact that he is unflappable across all shoot situations.  Add a bit of MacGyver to that, as he comes with everything we ever seem to need for each shoot he’s on.  His attention to detail, his willingness to research the new technology, study the scout photos, etc. means a better looking and better produced end product.

Known for his energy and ability to work calmly under pressure, Bill also has a fantastic eye and helps us capture some fantastic interviews and commercial scenes. With a collaborative work style, client-centered approach, and dry sense of humor, Bill is a valuable team member.

JOEL SCHWARTZBERG

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
BLACK TRUFFLE LOVER

Joel is one of Out of the Blue Productions top picks for Director of Photography.  He can often be found on an Out of the Blue shoot lining up the next shot, as well as helping keep our interview subjects at ease.

He has a tremendous eye and knack for capturing the most interesting angle in any location, and makes our subjects look terrific with his natural lighting.

Joel has traveled around the world on a number of award-winning documentaries and long form programs.  His work can be found on many national networks,  including Discovery Channel and Nat Geo.

He must have a third eye; he can grab the best B-roll shots and still have an eye for the next angle, adding humor and grace throughout a long day.

“OOTB have consistently brought intelligence as well as sensitivity to our projects…”
